HINTS WHEN GOING FOR AN INTERVIEW

• Do some research on the company that you are going to.  Make sure you understand what the job spec is all about – that the consultant has explained every detail to you.

• If you smoke DO NOT go in smelling of cigarettes.

• Gents – do wear a tie/suit.  No matter what position you are being interview for.

• Ladies – do wear the best day outfit you have.  NO low tops, NO short skirts and NO tight pants that show the bulges.

• Confirm the time and address of the appointment with the consultant long before the interview – NOT ON THE WAY to the interview.

• Find out what the culture of the company is and what type of personality profile will be interviewing you.

• Do not just sit back in the interview and keep quiet – show an INTEREST and ask relevant questions.  (We as consultants can only “sell” you so far – the rest is up to you).

• NEVER GIVE YOUR CONTACT DETAILS TO THE CLIENT – we as consultants work very hard to get you the interview and all feedback should ONLY go through the consultants.  (Please have respect for us).

• If you are offered a position – think long and hard about it – ‘We place applicants in careers, not just putting a bum in the seat’.

• Please be honest with us in the interview – eventually the truth will come out.

• NEVER BE LATE FOR AN INTERVIEW, get there at least 10 MINUTES before!
